On Saturday, September 23, the second Goulash Festival was held in Gornja Toponica near Niš, under the auspices of the Niš Municipality Red Cross and the local youth office.
Niška Pivara entered a team consisting of: Miloš Petković (head chef – otherwise PR of Niška Pivara), Dejan Ivanović (member – director of Niška Pivara) and Andrija Kuzmanović (member) and, in a competition of six teams, won first place by the decision of a three-member expert jury. An interesting fact for all Niška Pivara fans is that a beer goulash was made, for which a little Niška Pivara and Niška Kalfa were used, which gave a special touch to this traditional dish.
At the competition itself, there were goulash made from game, beef, pork, and goulash made with wine, but only the goulash made by the Niš Brewery team was beer-based.
We thank the great organizers, hosts, and expert jury, with the hope that this event will come to life and be held every year at the same time and in the same place.
If so, we will show up next year to try to defend the title, but, above all, to hang out with good hosts and excellent chefs to share experiences.
